Admission Avoidance in COPD

Our Admission Avoidance Study Afternoon has been very popular – particularly through the autumn/winter period. This study afternoon is designed to give all healthcare professionals who have a role in managing patients with COPD, particularly in primary care, the information and confidence they need in order to provide the best care to their exacerbating COPD patients.

The study afternoon includes:

  • Updates on the clinical guidance provided by both the new NICE Quality Standards (2011) and the NICE Guideline; Management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in adults in primary and secondary care (2010)
  • Guidance on the use of pharmacotherapy
  • Guidance on the use of non-pharmacological treatments / support that can be offered to the patient
  • Guidance on how to decide whether to treat a patient at home vs. in hospital
  • The use of self-management plans
  • End of life plans

The courses are run throughout the year at a variety of venues. If you are interested in attending please email info@respiricare.com for further information on dates and prices.
