COPD Study Day

Our COPD study days have proved to be very successful for all healthcare practitioners who have a role in managing patients with COPD both in primary and secondary care. The course is based on recommendations made within the NICE Quality Standards (2011) and NICE Guideline: Management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in adults in primary and secondary care (2010).

This study day is suitable for anyone who has a role in the diagnosis or management of patients with COPD.

This full day course can be tailored to your exact needs please just advise us of your exact requests in advance. The course is highly practical and interactive and sessions covered can include:

  • Diagnosing COPD
  • Management of stable COPD including pulmonary rehabilitation, pharmacotherapy, dietetic support
  • Management of exacerbations including the use of antibiotics, steroids and mucolytics, the use of self-management plans, treatment in hospital vs. at home
  • Managing end stage COPD
  • Oxygen assessment and review
  • Smoking cessation
  • Update on new NICE Quality Standards
